UC’s real-world impact is exemplified by the winners of the inaugural UC Regents Innovation Awards. Announced this week, the awards honor 23 people in five categories, chosen from a group of nominees representing all 10 UC campuses and three affiliated national labs.
“UC is not just about educating tomorrow’s leaders, physicians, and CEOs. It is also about driving life-changing discoveries and breakthroughs that will shape California and the world for generations to come,” said UC Board of Regents Vice Chair Mark Robinson. “While UC is proud to be the nation’s premier public research institution, we are also resolved to become the world’s best public impact university. We honor this year’s 47 nominees who embody that spirit of service to others.”
