TechTransfer Fellowship

Understand the ins & outs of intellectual property

We have partnered with the UC Davis Technology Transfer Office to offer a Technology Transfer Fellowship for PhDs or Postdocs interested in the legal questions around commercializing university research.

Selected fellows utilize their technical background and prior experience with entrepreneurship, innovation and/or use-inspired research to further build expertise in the areas of technology licensing, intellectual property, and business development related to the fields of agriculture, food and health. Projects relate specifically to intellectual property and technology transfer and may include:

  • Prior art searches
  • Contract/grant analysis
  • Technology assessments
  • Market analyses
  • Term sheet support
  • Invention harvesting
  • IP strategy

Fellows will help scout potential technologies for commercialization, assess commercial potential through market research, learn valuation and deal making, and support IP processes. Fellows will be provided with regular guidance and mentorship through the Technology Transfer Office’s professional staff.
