Our understanding of the relationship between the food we eat and our health is deeper than ever and we now have the scientific knowledge and technological ability to transform this relationship to significantly change people’s lives. Yet, to create individual and societal impact this transformational change will not occur without bridging the existing gap between basic research and commercialization. To do so, we, the Innovation Institute for Food and Health (IIFH), drive action to conduct use-inspired research, promote talent and market discovery while fostering dialogue between academics, industries, stakeholders and decision makers across the food and health nexus. In this white paper, we outline our vision and share our approach to initiate a food and health disruption centered on metabolic health supporting happier, healthier, longer lives for everyone.
