Food & Health Angels (FH Angels), an angel investment network that grew out of the innovation ecosystem in Davis, has announced its first investment: Persperion Diagnostics, a startup developing a non-invasive glucose monitoring device. The investment marks an important milestone for the young network, which brings together experienced investors and industry leaders to help early-stage food and health companies commercialize science-driven innovations.
Persperion’s ConTAQ Sweat Glucose Monitor is designed to measure glucose using a touch-based sweat sensor, potentially offering an alternative to finger-prick testing and implanted continuous glucose monitors. The funding will support key development milestones, including pilot clinical studies and regulatory activities, as the company works toward bringing the technology to market. The announcement also reflects FH Angels’ broader focus on supporting evidence-based innovations that address major health challenges through food, biotechnology, and medical technology.
