UC Davis launches Aggie Venture Accelerator to advance early-stage life science innovation

UC Davis has launched the Aggie Venture Accelerator (AVA), a new initiative designed to help early-stage startups transform breakthrough discoveries into scalable solutions across life sciences, food, and health. Delivered through UC Davis Venture Catalyst in partnership with The March Group, the accelerator combines mentorship, structured programming, industry connections, and investment opportunities to help founders navigate the critical path from innovation to commercialization. The program reflects UC Davis’ longstanding commitment to translating research excellence into solutions that address pressing societal challenges.

For the UC Davis Innovation Institute for Food and Health (IIFH), the launch underscores the growing ecosystem supporting science-based innovation at the intersection of food, health, and biotechnology. By helping entrepreneurs access expertise, capital, and commercialization pathways, initiatives like AVA strengthen the bridge between academic discovery and market adoption. Together, UC Davis programs are creating new opportunities for researchers, startups, industry partners, and investors to advance innovations that have the potential to improve human and planetary health while driving economic growth.
