I’m a bit of an odd fellow (pun intended!) in this program. I grew up not far from Davis, but did my graduate studies in Copenhagen at the Technical University...

…Of course, getting to those answers is not always simple. Sensory scientists use human perception, consumer research, experimental design, and statistics to understand why people respond to products the way...

How does a scientific discovery become something that creates real-world value? My experience during the California-Denmark Innovator Fellowship showed me that the journey requires more than strong evidence or impressive...

When I arrived in California for the California–Denmark Innovator Fellowship, I came with almost ten years of experience in academia and research. I knew how to approach a scientific question,...

As researchers, we are trained to ask whether the science supports our ideas. During my Ph.D. in Animal Biology here at UC Davis, I have spent years asking questions about...

The food we eat is complex. Understanding its molecular makeup can seem even more so—but that understanding could be critical to the future of food and health. UC Davis’ Innovation...

The pace of innovation across food and health continues to accelerate, creating new opportunities to connect research, industry, entrepreneurship, and investment. For IIFH this quarter has been marked by new...

Scientists and engineers do great work to bring new technologies and products to society, often as potential improvements to current processes and production cycles. They usually work hard on making...

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and the University of California, Davis Innovation Institute for Food & Health (IIFH) today announced a strategic collaboration to advance scientific discovery, technology translation and...

Rethinking Muscle Health in the GLP-1 Era Muscle is increasingly recognized as far more than the tissue that powers movement. It is a dynamic organ that influences metabolism, healthy aging,...

Developing scientific talent is essential to accelerating innovation in food, human, and planetary health. The California–Denmark Innovator Fellowship was created to give early-career researchers firsthand experience navigating the intersection of...
